After the First Commendation for Wood Carving, that the artist received from the wood carver Vasilis Sperantzas in 1985, Sotos started working on wood carvings in the seminars of the Ionian Center, mainly producing works of xylography and linoleum. He prints brass works too with the carving printer which came in his possession in 1994.

The carvings sometimes accompany thematic series by the artist, such as Rebetiko, and other times they form a series of their own, such as Carvings for the Greek Cinema 1950 – 70.

Sotos also prints posters for his exhibitions in a small number of copies, with methods of carving.
